NBTHK Koshirae for japanese sword wakizashi

Description

interesting old Koshirae with sark or rayskin covering, i cannot be exactly sure what it is. its 26 inches long overall, the tip of the scabbard, the front fuchi and rear kashira all have the same matching motif/ designs. the tsuba is iron, the blade and habaki are wood, the habaki is a separate removable piece. the handle wrap seems to be lacquered. the menuki are very tall and robust, they are horses. the scabbard has some interesting metal work at the tip. there is a little damage to the handle wrap over the peg holes on each side.  purchased around 2006.
