    Massive Late Koto Mu Mei Katana

    A Massive Late Koto Mu Mei Katana With O-Kissaki Suriage Nakago And Buke Tsukuri Mounts. The massive blade has a 27 and 3/4 inch cutting edge and is a full 1 and 1/4 inch wide. O kissaki is nearly 4 inches in length. Hamon is a choji midare. at monouchi becoming suguha toward hamachi. Mu mei nakago with two mekugi-ana, kuri jiri. Two piece copper habaki, Tsuka with good shakudo, gold, and copper signed fuchi-kashira with three character signature and kakihan. One iron menuki formed of a dragon swallowing a ken sword, the other of a salmon in copper with gold mon. Light green tsuka makie and same grip. Plain black lacquer saya. Blade is in good polish with no chips, some minor shintetsu. Nakago is good showing Koto patina. Good old iron katana tsuba decorated with priests in gold and silver highlights possibly allegorical with Fukurokuju. Tsuka with tight wrap. This massive blade would make an excellent iato for an advanced practitioner or surely please the aficionado of katana with o-kissaki.
